Personal, Purposeful, and Positive
Very Very Personal Post... Health Related for sure!
The photo here is my mommy. When I was very small, my mom played on a local softball team with other friends and had fun. I just remember the joy it brought her and her friends. They were all a hoot! smile emoticon #goodtimes
My mom however smoked in her 20s, 30s, and finally quitting in her 40s. In her 30s she had surgery on a lung. Then with the meds and poor food choices after she quit smoking, her health declined even more adding diabetes, anemia, and osteoporosis. She never let us know how unhealthy she was on the inside. She knew because she was a career Registered Respiratory Therapist. Her life's work was saving and caring for people like her.
Why am I posting this?
I am a mom like her with four kids; 3 girls and 1 boy. I know she did what she could to be healthy and go on DIETS. The 80s and 90s were a struggle, a fight for her health. She listened to Marketing (low this and that, fat-free), Media (misleading stories), Corporations (selling priority), the Government's Pyramid (fuels agri-economy), and whatever was the latest (WW, etc).People ask about my "WHY"?
"Why are you now such a Health Foodie AND cannot stop thinking about health and helping others around the world 24/7?"
BECAUSE... I fully BELIEVE that if my mom had BETTER INFORMATION and SUPPORT, she may not have gotten so sick so fast. Sure smoking did it's damage, but ironically the medicines that kept her alive longer than doctors expected also made her sicker and gave her new ailments.
In addition to all that, the FALSE "health foods" on the shelves with unproven theories of what food companies thought would help the decrease the increasing obesity problem just further made my mom sick on the inside.
Focus on Strengths
Thank goodness she was confident, strong, and driven in goals. She did what she could with what she had and that is all we can do.
I am passionate because I have learned truths and experienced health like never before through food choices! I lost 101 pounds in eating changes alone, and I want everyone know that they too can have their own personal plan and results!
Caring for people like me
If a person has solid goals and is willing to get support, make gradual changes in lifestyle habits, and open to new things for health's sake, then I am here to be your free unconditional guide, friend, and buddy! Helping other have a Positive mindset is where it's best to start and the rest will fall in place and the pounds will fall off!
I miss you mom. I know you'd be right with me on this campaign to helping other's in health, one person at a time. Let's Do this!
